GEDET is a versatile and sophisticated
instrument for measurement of coatings of metal or alloy on substrates by
electroplating or other methods. It is simple enough to be welcomed by operator of average skill when a large number of
routine measurements on standard metallic coating are to be made. At the same time, it is sophisticated enough to be
employed by a scientist for his investigation purposes on metallic and alloy coatings. It works on Coulometric
principle.
It has a very high accuracy and repeatability. It can measure thickness on flat or curved
surfaces. GEDET also measures coating on known length of wire or
pins using Acrylic cell which is supplied as an accessory. |

SIDET is a versatile and sophisticated instrument for the measurement of coatings of metals as well as alloys applied on a
substrate by electroplating or other methods. It fulfils a long standing need on the
Indian market for a low cost, reliable
and accurate coating thickness measuring instrument.
SIDET works on the Coloumetric principle. It has high accuracy and repeatability. It can measure thickness on thick and
flat surfaces. SIDET also measures coatings on known length of wires. An acrylic cell with stainless steel cup is used for
deplating the coatings on known length of wire. This is supplied as an accessory.
SIDET has a unique feature of Plate / Base combination (PBC) plug. Different PBC plugs are supplied for measurement of
different platings. There are no menus, settings, or complicated controls to carry out the measurements. Simple, true to
it's name, SIDET offers very easy operation. Use of pretested 2.5mm or 3.5mm dia gasket supplied with SIDET ensures
accurate results.

Smart GEDET is a versatile and sophisticated instrument for measurement of thickness of plated metals as well as
alloys. It is the second generation of GEDET series. Ease in use and self calibration are the important features. It is simple for any operator of average skill to carry out large number of routine measurements.
Upto 99 readings can be stored in memory. Statistical parameters can be computed and displayed for the set of readings.

Smart GEDET can be coupled to a PC for data logging with a COM serial interface. Alternatively a printer can be directly
connected through a parallel port. Smart GEDET is supplied with Etching cell assembly, agitator pump assembly with stand. Adjustable X, Y & Z movements of
this stand assembly enables user to measure on objects of variety of shapes & sizes. |

Smart STEP can perform STEP test for Duplex and Triplex Nickel. Almost all Metallic coatings can be measured on
Smart STEP in the normal GEDET mode.
In STEP test mode, it measures Bright and Semi-Bright Nickel layer thicknesses and the Electrochemical Potential between
two Nickel layers. In normal Thickness testing mode, it offers accurate measurement of plating
thickness of various metallic coatings on different base materials.

Smart STEP is a microprocessor based instrument with interactive LCD display for simultaneous measurements of
Electrochemical Potential and Thickness in Microns. The accuracy of measurement is within +/- 10%. Smart Step prompts user to
select the base material i.e either steel or copper. Once the etching is complete, it automatically stops and displays the
potential in millivolts versus thickness along with computed value of step Voltage and individual layer thickness. The STEP
voltage measurement is within +/- 10% of the reading mentioned on the standard. Calibration of Smart STEP is checked on
Duplex Nickel Thickness Standard traceable to NCST.
Smart STEP stores the voltage readings on battery backed memory. Even after switching off the instrument, the data array
is preserved. Data can be printed on any standard printer. The data array can be transferred to COM port of PC via RS-232
link. Data Retrieval Software is supplied to user for data transfer and storage.
Support Software to convert the millivolt readings in graphical form is an integral part of the software package. Smart
STEP also provides recorder output of measured Electrochemical Potential. This Recorder output is available while the etching
is underway. Y-T recorder and printer are supplied as option.
